The second Sunday in May is approaching fast in the ice sculpting world as Mother’s Day happens to be one of the busiest days for our field and the restaurant industry. Brunch is a common tradition celebrated by many families all across the nation. Our ice sculptures, whether they are functional food displays, or elaborately personal pieces of art, are typically shone alongside all of the prepared food in the brunch buffet. It’s no surprise that we carve up so many ice sculptures because Mother’s Day, next to Christmas and Easter, is the third most popular holiday in the world. We all got here one way or another, right? The U.S. Census bureau stated that, as of 2009, there were about 85.4 million mothers in the United States. On this particular Sunday, we really take the phrase “Call your mother” to heart, as there are more phone calls made on Mother’s Day than any other day of the year. We however suggest getting a head start and calling before the big day and inviting your mother out to brunch where you can see one of our ice sculptures dedicated to her and all of the mothers who have helped us grow, gave us confidence, and cared for us!
